Why ShinyVale

ShinyVale isn't trying to reinvent Minecraft. The goal is simple: keep survival feeling like survival, and build useful multiplayer systems around it — not instead of it.

32-Chunk View Distance

ShinyVale runs with a server view distance of 32 chunks — far beyond what most multiplayer servers offer.

Massive Visibility Mountains, oceans, and skylines stay visible instead of fading into fog a few chunks out.

Better Exploration Spot interesting terrain from a distance instead of stumbling into it blind.

Builds Worth Seeing Big projects are actually visible as big — from far enough away to appreciate the scale.

Why this matters

View distance is one of the first things that gets cut on most SMPs to save performance. ShinyVale keeps it high on purpose, because distant terrain being visible genuinely changes how the world feels to play in.

A 30,000,000 × 30,000,000 World

The main world's border is set to 30,000,000 × 30,000,000 blocks — for practical purposes, an unbounded survival world.

  • Room to spread out. Plenty of space for a base far from spawn, without crowding anyone else.
  • Long-term survival. You won't run out of new land to settle, even after months of play.
  • Massive projects fit. Nothing about the world size limits how big you build.
  • Real distance to travel. RTP alone can drop you somewhere genuinely far from home.

Vanilla at Heart

ShinyVale's plugins add multiplayer structure — protection, an economy, events — without changing how core Minecraft plays.

Core Minecraft, untouched:

Redstone Farms Mob behavior Building Exploration PvE

ShinyVale's additions, layered on top:

Claims Economy Player shops Auctions Duels Bounties Calendar Crossplay

Built to preserve vanilla-style redstone and survival mechanics

Farms, sorting systems, storage builds, and other technical contraptions are expected to behave the way you'd expect from vanilla Minecraft. Every setting that could touch redstone or core survival mechanics has been checked and left at vanilla behavior — nothing here promises a byte-for-byte perfect vanilla implementation, but nothing has been deliberately nerfed or altered either.

For Technical Players

If you're the kind of player who builds automatic farms, item sorters, or large-scale redstone contraptions, ShinyVale is built to stay out of your way:

  • Redstone behaves the way you expect it to.
  • Hoppers, comparators, and pistons aren't rate-limited or altered from vanilla.
  • The size of the world means there's genuinely room for large-scale builds without running into a neighbor.
  • The long view distance means your builds are actually visible from far away — which matters more than it sounds like for anything large-scale.
